A team of Resident Evil fans have created a demo for a fan made Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake. The demo is immediately available for PC in English, Spanish, and Portuguese and consists of the opening area of Resident Evil: Code Veronica. This fan made remake is in the same vein as Capcom’s official Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes.
Resident Evil Code Veronica plays very similar to Resident Evil 3. It is an old school Resident Evil game at heart and by most people, it is regarded as the hardest in the series. You really have to conserve your ammo in this game as it is very stingy with it, but this just makes you think more before you shoot. Resident Evil Code: Veronica Part 6 - Resident Kinevil On the newest episode of GameSpot's Resident Evil long play series, Mary Kish and Mike Mahardy finally get back to Rodrigo, and give him a. The Twitter for this fan made project appeared in September 2019, with a website appearing shortly after. The website for the project features various screenshots of recreated environments, and a video showcasing gameplay, user interface elements, and enemy models. This includes a look at the Prison section of Resident Evil: Code Veronica.
This fan made remake has no affiliations with Capcom. The website for the project states this several times. Additionally, the team working on the remake has made clear that they won’t accept donations or funds for the project. This is something they are doing purely for their love of the franchise.
Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 have received official remakes by Capcom. However, there is currently no word of an official Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake that could potentially be in development. That being said, the Resident Evil 2 remake is currently on Capcom’s Platinum Titles list, sitting at spot number three with 8.1 million units sold.
After the official remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, Capcom appears to be working on Resident Evil 4 Remake. Now as you may have noticed, the team has skipped a RE game that came right after RE3. That RE game is no other than Resident Evil Code Veronica. And since Capcom is not planning to remake it, some fans decided to create their own in Unity Engine.
This fan remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica will feature 3D environments and will be a third-person shooter. The remake aims to retain the style of the original game. Naturally, it will feature reimagined versions of all maps… or at least that’s the plan.
Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake will feature two modes; Remake and Classic. The Remake Mode will feature a third-person camera and faithful expanded scenarios. On the other hand, the Classic Mode will have fixed camera angles like the original game.
Furthermore, the game promises to feature new cinematics, new gameplay mechanics, expanded scenarios and puzzles, and save rooms.
Now while all this sounds too good to be true, the team released a gameplay video that appears to be quite polished (at least for a fan project). So, here is hoping that Capcom will not send them a C&D letter.
Enjoy the following gameplay videos and stay tuned for more!
